HARVEST HOMES PRESENTS A MEMORIAL DAY SPECTACULAR THIS SATURDAY MAY 23 AT THE FONDA SPEEDWAY

Fonda, NY – This Saturday, May 23 at the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway, Harvest Homes will present a Memorial Day Spectacular with all regular divisions in action along with the Mohawk Valley Vintage Modified Series (MVVDMS).
Regular divisions that will be in action include the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds, the Swagger Factory Apparel Sportsman, the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks, the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
The day begins early at 1:00 p.m. at the Fonda Speedway Hall of Fame & Museum with the 2026 Fonda Speedway Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Fonda Speedway announcer Todd Morey will emcee the event with the class of 2026 including Bob Mott, Ron Constantino, Steve Bidwell, Bob James, and Kenny Gates. Two special awards will also be presented to Ed Lamberton (the Bruce Dostal Award) and the Montenaro Family who will receive the “Stepping Stone Award.”
The Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series (MVVDMS) has a big day planned at the "Track Of Champions" this Saturday, May 23 starting at the Fonda Speedway Hall of Fame & Museum. MVVDMS cars will be on display in front of the Museum at 12:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Fonda Speedway Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
2026 Fonda Speedway Hall of Fame Inductee Ron Constantino will be just one of the MVVDMS drivers who will have his #21A car on display.
The action doesn’t stop there as the MVVDMS Series will take to the track with exciting racing action for the Fonda fans to enjoy. Five divisions, Antiques, Mystiques, Sportsman, Modifieds, and Late Models will represent the many eras of our racings past in the MVVDMS feature events.
All of the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series (MVVDMS) feature events will celebrate and honor the “World’s Biggest Race Fan” Don Gras with the running of the Don Gras Memorial event.
“We are honored to keep the tradition going for this amazing icon of our sport, which just goes to show you the value of not having to be a driver, but a committed fan that brings so much value in life to many people that shares the love of Stock Car Racing,” posted on the MVVDMS Facebook page before the first Don Gras Memorial event years ago. “Don was able to touch so many lives with his kindness to everyone he encountered with. Don's value carries on with his family and friends that cherished and loved this great man of our sport.”
Saturday will also be the MVVDMS New York State Stock Car Association (NYSSCA) rescheduled event. MVVDMS NYSSCA Awards on Saturday at Fonda will be paid out as follows:
The first driver across the finish line that is a NYSSCA member will receive $100.00 in each division.
The second driver across the line that is a NYSSCA member will receive $75.00 in each division.
There will also be one $50.00 Wild Card Award given out to a driver that is a NYSSCA member.
Along with the cash bonus, each winning driver will also receive a NYSSCA hat that was made by MVVDMS very own sponsor Driven Design & Embroidery.
If you are a race fan that gets to the track early, be sure to check out the history of the Fonda Speedway at the Fonda Speedway Museum & Hall of Fame which is located on the Fonda Fairgrounds at the rear of the parking area going down towards turn four. The museum is open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on race days and admission is free!
Fonda Speedway weekly feature winners, their race teams, and sponsors are invited the following week to display their cars at the museum and watch their feature win on Flo before the races. The victorious car display can begin as early as 3:00, and you are welcome to arrive and stay as late as your schedule allows.

Also please visit the Fonda Speedway Kid’s Club, located at the end of the grandstands at gate two. This week will be “Panel Night” with drivers donating race car panels for the Kid’s Club members to have a chance to win. Stop and see Mindy and register your kid’s for a chance to win the panels that were donated by many different drivers.

The “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing for 75 years. The speedway operates weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
