Milestone on the Mohawk: Fonda Speedway Set for 75th Anniversary Season

FONDA, NY – The milestone 75th season of racing at Fonda Speedway has taken shape.

Promoter Brett Deyo has released a working edition of the 2026 schedule for the historic venue located along the Mohawk River.

All weekly divisions (Modified, Sportsman, Pro Stock, Limited Sportsman & Four Cylinder) return to the ’26 schedule in addition to a variety of touring series.

“After a rebuilding year in 2025, we are very optimistic about our prospects next season,” Deyo – entering his eighth season at Fonda – said. “Momentum is on our side for a memorable 75th anniversary season and our staff is very proud to be part of this milestone.”

Race fans will not have to wait long for the first on-track action of ’26: the season gets away on Thursday, Jan. 1 with the ‘Chill Factor’ Enduro at the Track of Champions.

The “pre-season tradition” Fonda Speedway Race Car Show takes over the Via Port Mall in Rotterdam, N.Y., Fri.-Sun. March 20-22 (move-in date: March 19).

On-track activity resumes on Saturday, April 11 with an Open Practice (rain dates: April 12 and April 15) for all divisions.

Jumpin’ Jack Johnson – arguably Fonda Speedway’s most revered driver – will be remembered on a ‘12A Opening Day’ on Saturday, April 18. Points begin for all divisions.

To celebrate 75 years at the Track of Champions, a massive ‘Legends Night’ will take place on Saturday, June 13 with an invite to past drivers, promoters and characters from the venue’s first 75 years of racing. Eric Mack has stepped up to spearhead the event, which will kick off with a meet and greet and autograph session in the Entertainment Building prior to the start of racing.

· CRSA Sprint Cars – May 30

· Fan Appreciation Night with Meet & Greet ($5 Grandstand Admission) – June 27

· Short Track Super Series ‘Firecracker 50’ – Wednesday, July 1

· Modified Twin 20s – July 11

· Empire Super Sprints (ESS) 360 Sprint Cars – July 18

· Autism Awareness Night benefiting the Crossroads Center for Children – July 25

· Fonda Speedway-Lebanon Valley Speedway Challenge plus the Hondo Classic and BOBCO Dash for Pro Stocks (358-Modifieds join weekly divisions) – Aug.1

· Championship Night – Aug. 15

The marquee Fonda 200 Weekend is set for Thurs.-Sat. Sept. 17-19 featuring a three-day festival of racing, camping and live music. The 200 Weekend concludes with the 2026 Awards Banquet in the Entertainment Building on Sunday (Sept. 20).

For the second consecutive year, Versus Monster Trucks take over the Fonda Fairgrounds on Oct. 3 with “The Epicenter” special event.

Since 1953, the Track of Champions Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. The speedway operates weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
