Fonda Speedway
$10 GENERAL ADMISSION AT FONDA THIS SATURDAY ON “RETRO NIGHT”

Fonda, NY – This Saturday, May 17 Holmes & Kugler Towing will present “Retro Night” at the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway. All regular divisions will be in action including the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds, the Swagger Factory Apparel Sportsman, the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks, the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday with Hot Laps at 6:00 p.m. and racing at 7:00 p.m.
Announced on Thursday of this week, the first 100 fans through gate two on “Retro Night” will receive FREE admission courtesy of Mimi Lazzaro and her Mom Sheila! Thank you Mimi & Sheila.
While we are on the subject of “Retro,” I looked back in the history of the track and the latest that I could find that the $10 general admission was charged was back in 2015. That year the Modified division ran a total of 21 events with seven different winners, with Stewart Friesen winning eleven of them along with the Modified Track Championship.
The Sportsman division ran a total of 20 events with 12 different winners led by Rocky Warner who won five events along with the Sportsman Track Championship. The Pro Stock division ran a total of 20 events with six different winners led by Nick Stone with seven wins. Pete Broderson, with a total of five wins, was crowned the Pro Stock Track Champion.
Dave Horning Sr. was crowned the 2015 Street Stock Track Champion with a total of 19 events run and eight different winners led by Horning Sr. with ten wins. The Four Cylinders ran a total of six events with two different winning drivers led by Ken Hollenback with five wins and the Four Cylinder Track Championship.

Since 1953, the Track of Champions Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. The speedway operates weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
