INFINITY CUSTOM HARVESTING PRESENTS THE F.X. CAPRARA CAR COMPANIES “THUNDER ON THE THRUWAY SERIES” AT FONDA THIS SATURDAY, JULY 13

Fonda, NY – The 2024 season continues at the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway this Saturday, July 13 with a F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” event for the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds ($4,000 to win), the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,500 to win), and the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks ($1,000 to win).

The Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders will also be in action on Saturday with racing beginning at 7:00 p.m. A special bonus will also be paid out to heat race winners in the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stock division with the winners of each heat race being paid a $200 bonus from RCK Motorsports!

So far in 2024 there have been four races held in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series”, two at the Fonda Speedway and two at the BD Motorsports sister track the Utica Rome Speedway. Modified feature event winners include Stewart Friesen with two wins while Michael Maresca and Matt Sheppard both have one feature victory.

Payton Talbot leads the way with two wins in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” Crate 602 Sportsman division while Chad Edwards and Tyler Peet both have one win apiece. Luke Horning, Devin Camenga, Kenny Gates, and Bret Belden all have one win apiece in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” Pro Stock division.

Michael Maresca leads the way in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” Modified division points with 206 followed in the top five by Alex Yankowski (200), Rocky Warner (168), Dave Constantino (135), and Bobby Hackel IV (129).

Payton Talbot leads the way in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” Crate 602 Sportsman division points with 224 followed in the top five by Chad Edwards (204), Butchie Irwin (176), Chip Constantino (158), and Clayton DuMond (148).

Kenny Gates leads the way in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies “Thunder on the Thruway Series” Pro Stock division points with 198 followed in the top five by Ivan Joslin (192), Devin Camenga (152), Bret Belden (146), and Jason Morrison (144).

The “Thunder on the Thruway Series” has been around since 2008 when it was known as the Go-Green NMX Series. In 2009 the series was known as the Dual Track Thunder Series before the current title was started in 2010 and has run under the Thunder on the Thruway Series title in 2011, 2021-2024.

The history of “Thunder on the Thruway Series” champions since the start of the series shows Brett Hearn as Modified champion in 2008 (only the Modifieds ran the series back then); Bobby Varin (Modified) and David Towns (Open Sportsman) in 2009; Stewart Friesen (Modified), Bill Trexler Jr. (Open Sportsman), and Rocky Warner (Pro Stock) in 2010; Stewart Friesen (Modified) and Rocky Warner (Pro Stock) in 2011; Stewart Friesen (Modified), Chad Edwards (Crate 602 Sportsman), and Nick Stone (Pro Stock) in 2021; Alex Yankowski (Modified), Payton Talbot (Crate 602 Sportsman), and Nick Stone (Pro Stock) in 2022; and last year in 2023 Yankowski, Talbot, and Stone repeated as series champions.

If you are a race fan that gets to the track early, be sure to check out the Fonda Speedway Museum & Hall of Fame which is located on the Fonda Fairgrounds at the rear of the parking area going down towards turn four. The museum is open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on race days and admission is free!

All races at Fonda Speedway – will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the $150 annual subscription.

Since 1953, the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. Under the management of BD Motorsports Media LLC, the speedway will operate weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
