Trenca Ends Season With 12th-Place Finish at Fonda Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – FONDA, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2014) – Joe Trenca wrapped up his season last Friday at Fonda Speedway.

“We drew pretty bad and the track was locked-down fast and one lane in the heat races,” he said. “It was really rough. It was hard to pass.”

Trenca maneuvered from seventh to fifth place during his Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints heat race to lock his Mucci Motorsports team into the main event.

“They graded the track and it was a lot smoother and really racy for the feature,” he said.

Trenca, who lined up on the inside of the seventh row for the 25-lap feature, began to work toward the front from the start of the race.

“We were up to as far as seventh and the motor didn’t fire on one restart,” he said. “We had a red flag and it was a slow pace on the restart. I think it loaded up. It just stumbled and we fell back to 19th.”

The slow restart near the midpoint of the main event dropped Trenca to the back of the field. However, he was able to rebound for a 12th-place finish.

“It was frustrating finishing 12th when we had a top-five car,” he said. “It was also frustrating because that was our last race of the year. We’re regrouping now and hope to have a stronger season next year.”

Trenca finished his season with one top five and six top 10s.
